Dried grapes in Manisa, where 70% of Turkey's raisin production is met, were packaged and sent to customs for export.
In the first month of the Turkish raisin export season, which started on September 1, 25,000 tons of grapes were exported to 62 countries for 41.6 million dollars. These exports remained below 11% in terms of amount and 19% in terms of income compared to the same period of the previous year.
Stating that there was a decrease in exports in the first month of the season, Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association President Mehmet Ali Işık said that this loss in September will be compensated with the increasing yield.
Mehmet Ali Işık stated that with the increase of exports from 220,000 tons in the previous season to 250,000 tons last season, they achieved a foreign exchange inflow of 475 million dollars; He said that they plan to generate 500 million dollars in revenue by exporting between 275 thousand and 300 thousand tons this year.
