The US Department of Agriculture predicts that in the 2020/21 season, China's apple production will be 3.6 million less than expected, which will reduce world production to 75.88 million tons, due to the frosts that have been significantly effective in the northwestern provinces of China. Especially, it is estimated that China's production will be 1.9 million tons lower than the previous season.
The US Department of Agriculture also predicts a decline in trade due to dwindling exportable supplies in the European Union and the United States.
