Kalender Tarım is a family company established in 1978. We will celebrate our 43rd anniversary in April this year.

Our company founder Kemal Kalender; After graduating from Robert College, he started his business life with the Cotton Trade. Using the advantage of foreign language at that time, the country laid the foundations of our company by exporting our cotton. We remember our founders fondly.

Our company is currently on its way with its second generation. Our Chairman of the Board, Mustafa Murat Kalender, completed his Business Administration education at Seattle City University and has been in the management of Kalender Tarım since 2001.

Kalender Tarım, which has always been one of the pioneers of its sector; brought the first bumblebees, the first hybrid seed, the first organomineral fertilizers, the first slow-release fertilizers to Turkish farmers in the Turkish market.

Calender Agriculture; Scam SPA (Italy), Pavoni & C SPA (Italy), Aspe Agrobiologico SL . (Spain), Fertilrey SL (Spain), Skw Piesteritz (Germany), Teofert (Greece) companies are the Turkey representative and distributor.

Kalender Tarım, which follows the innovations and continues to work with the responsibility of being one of the oldest in its sector, will continue to contribute to the country's economy.

Kalender Tarım started cut flower production in 1985. It is our 36th year in this sector. We export our flowers, called Spray and Standard Carnation, but with more than 25 varieties, to the British and Dutch markets, together with our growers who produce in our own greenhouses of 45,000 m2 and for us.

We start to cut our clove seedlings, which we bring together with the soil in June-July, in October-November, and we continue to export uninterruptedly until the next May. In the June-September periods, we continue production in the highland regions due to the climate. For us, the most important part of cut flower production is that we have female employees. We attach great importance to women's employment. Turkish woman; We believe in knowledge, skills and talents, and we try to include them in every staff of our company, whether in the field or at the computer.

I regret to say that the pandemic period has put the flower industry in a difficult time. We realized the 120 million $ target set by the Exporters' Association for the cut flower industry in 2020, as 107 million $, and we returned to our 2019 export figures as an industry. This situation caused a decrease in the foreign currency inflow to our country, and we could not make the expected contribution to our current account deficit.

We continue with the belief that our demands such as increasing state support due to our culture of doing business with our sector stakeholders, our knowledge and experience and our closeness to Europe, and the establishment of organized agricultural zones in the Antalya region will be realized as soon as possible.

In 2015, as a result of the demands of our farmers, who know our company structure and trust us, we started production in our own 1500 m2 area in Antalya, in the Northern Mediterranean Industrial Site. Unfortunately, due to the rising foreign exchange prices in recent years, the prices of imported fertilizers have also increased a lot. Thanks to our company history and the farmer's trust in us, our fertilizers, which we put on the market under the name of Kalender Brand, took their place in the market in a short time. This development and success made us happy and made us decide to focus on our investments in this direction. This year, for the first time, we succeeded in exporting our own fertilizers. Export was our first goal, and I would like to share my thanks to all our colleagues who contributed to this issue.

As Kalender Tarım, our primary goal was to ensure that none of our colleagues were infected with this damn virus and disease. Thankfully, we have reached these days without any of us getting infected with the virus. We have lost more than 2 million people in the world. Our lifestyles have changed. We all began to revisit our concepts of need. Our communication with technology has increased more than ever, and maybe we've all returned to our own cocoons. The only thing that did not stop during this period was our need to eat and drink. Our farmers have worked all over the world not to leave us without food. To look at the event globally, I think that this virus has as much to bring as it takes. I believe that the importance of agriculture will gradually increase all over the world.

As Kalender Tarım, we will continue to do our best to take part in the new world order, and to contribute to our country, just as we have done for 43 years.
