Stating that fertilizers are strategic for sufficient and quality food production, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Luis Planas stated that Spanish farmers spend € 2 billion annually on fertilizer products. Planas is confident that this aid, aimed at protecting the profitability of agricultural businesses, will also lead to lower food prices.
Stating that the prices of fertilizers, which are strategic in food production, tripled compared to the previous year, Minister Luis Planas reminded that the harvest can be reduced by up to 20% in vegetable production without fertilizer.
