The company, which emerged with the merger to create Israel's largest vegetable seed company, aims to grow rapidly in the international seed market by benefiting from significant synergies and unique R&D expertise.

The new seed company resulting from this merger will have more than 80 employees worldwide comprising molecular biologists, plant breeders, sales professionals and others.

The new company plans to continue its breeding activities in Israel, Spain, Mexico and Italy, while also focusing on high-tech greenhouses in the Netherlands and North America, strengthening its sales channels in this region and growing significantly with new sales.

Nirit Seeds is one of the important players in the sales of tomato and pepper seeds in international markets. In recent years, the company has invested heavily in the development of new commercial varieties using its advanced genetic resources. Founded 30 years ago, Nirit Seeds exports to more than 50 countries through its three subsidiaries in Spain, Italy and Mexico, in addition to its well-established distribution channels. The company employs around 50 people in Israel and worldwide.

Announcing great progress in developing ToBRFV resistant cultivars, TomaTech plans to commercialize these cultivars in the near future. Currently employing around 30 people in Israel, Italy, the USA and the Netherlands, TomaTech exports its products to more than 20 countries through its subsidiary in Spain.

Seed production is one of the most developed industries in Israel. According to the Federation of Israel Chambers of Commerce, an annual income of 200 million dollars is obtained from the seed exports of approximately 25 large and small-scale companies in the sector.

The size of the global vegetable seed industry, growing 8% each year, is estimated at approximately $8 billion . One third of this market, 2.5 billion dollars , is comprised of greenhouse tomato seeds.
